Research and development
At the Hiscia Institute of the Society for Cancer Research we work on the research and development of preparations for integrative and anthroposophical cancer therapy. The focus is on medicinal plants (Viscum, Helleborus, etc.) and natural substances as well as their pharmaceutical processing (especially extraction and other preparation processes).
Six working groups with around 30 employees are dedicated to mistletoe cultivation and botany, pharmaceutical development, pharmaceutical processes, tumour biology and clinical research, each based on the conceptual anthroposophical basics.
Hiscia Institute employs scientists as well as visiting scientists. Research results are published in scientific journals as well as books and brochures.
