Scientific information

The Society for Cancer Research is a non-profit organisation based in Arlesheim (Switzerland) and was founded in 1935 by the physicians Dr. Werner Kaelin and Ita Wegman, the scientist Dr. Rudolf Hauschka and the eurythmist Lina Kaelin. Its aims are the research and the development in the field of integrative and anthroposophical cancer medicine.


The research projects of the Hiscia Institute, which is part of the organisation, are often carried out in cooperation with other research institutions, including the possibility of writing academic theses (bachelor's and master's theses as well as doctoral dissertations).

The research results from the Hiscia Institute are made publicly available as bachelor's or master's theses and doctoral dissertations as well as publications in scientific journals and in book form.
