Tumor biology

A variety of pharmacological effects of total extracts, but also a range of chemically defined active substances of mistletoe, are known today and in some cases have been investigated down to the molecular mechanisms of action.

Based on basic research findings in the field of tumor biology, we are investigating aspects and correlations of the pharmacological effects of mistletoe extracts. Tumor immunology is a main focus here.

Topics relating to the safety of patients treated with mistletoe preparations are also on our research agenda. In particular, we are investigating possible drug interactions between mistletoe preparations and standard oncological drugs.

Expertise in various disciplines is indispensable for our scientific projects. In order to achieve our goals, we work closely with doctors and researchers from Switzerland and abroad. Publications from our working group can be found here.
